WTKollen.se, 2017–2019

Has together with consortium partners developed tools for web accessibility. The project was co-funded by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) innovation competition "Best in the industry" ("Bäst i branschen").

INDVIL, 2016–2019

The project has explored innovative data visualization and visual-numeric literacy. Tingtun has provided a feedback mechanism to rate data visualizations for Tallgrafikk.no shown at evaluation page, and co-authored a chapter on accessibility to datavisualizations for the INDVIL book, Data Visualization in Society, to appear in the spring of 2020. More on the INDVIL project website. The project was co-funded by the Research Council of Norway (Samkul program).

Mobile Age, 2016–2019

The Mobile Age project ensures the inclusion of seniors in digital public services thanks to the development of user-friendly mobile applications based on open government data. Thus, it supports their access to civic participation, their involvement in their communities, and helps them benefit from open government data and mobile technologies. Such mobile applications will be tested at co-creation workshops held in four pilot sites in Europe, namely UK, Germany, Spain and Greece.

Tingtun was a partner in the Mobile Age project, co-funded by the European Commission under H2020.

European Internet Inclusion Initiative (EIII), 2013–2016

The EIII has prepared a collection of services in a new combination of existing automated open source evaluation tools for accessibility and also supports user testing of websites and audio-visual media. EIII is open source to ensure accountability of results and facilitate adoption and further use of the results. EIII has delivered web-based tools for testing websites against the WCAG 2.0 guidelines. The project is supported by the European Commission (FP7), co-orinated by Tingtun and carried out in a collaboration with international partners from government, users, and from research.

Termfinn, 2015

The Termfinn project was carried out in a collaboration with the Norwegian Building Authority to prepare a universally designed solution to look up technical terms related to the building sector.

The project was supported by The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs.

eGovMon - eGovernemnt Monitor

The eGovMon project has in a close collaboration with a group of pilot municipalities created new tools and insights to improve the accessibility and quality in general of online services.

The project has developed a methodology to check accessibility based on WCAG 2.0. The open source tools have since 2009 been successfully deployed and are regularly used by many municipalities, and by national government agencies in Canada, Norway, Wales, and Qatar. The project has also compiled a basis for further research on transparency, 1 efficiency and impact state of the art reports, 2 informed by literature studies, user surveys and workshop discussions including the municipal partners.

Many of the project results will be further elaborated in the EIII project.

User Testing Tool, 2012–2014

User Testing Tool is a web-based tool integrating with an existing automated checker for testing websites against the WCAG 2.0 guidelines. The initial development of the project was supported by the Research Council of Norway, under the IT Funk program.
